Senior in Sasse College

Created by Elizabeth 15 years ago
I have been on a cyber hibernation for the longest time I can remember. But Sunday's happenings in London have jolted me out of that state. Kitts Mbeboh? Well, he was a senior in Sasse College. My House Captain in a freshly opened dormitory: Saint Paul's. But I had known him from my first night in Sasse College on that cold Saturday evening in September 1965: he was affable and curious to know who you were and what worries you brought with you from home. Later in Yaounde in the 70s Kitts was not just a senior brother and a "country man", but also and above all, a counsellor: urging us on to academic success. Kitts, as many have attested, was an icon in his own time. But the ways of the world are never for the human mind to fathom. Kitts, alive and vibrant yesterday; cold and unresponsive today! Go well brother and may our ancestors welcome you with the fanfare you deserve in the great beyond. Asonglefac Nkemleke.
