In Loving Memory of our Father Kitts Mbeboh Amidst the memories and tears there are not enough words to describe our Pa Mbeboh, Ndo Nkong to us. Not enough words to reconstruct the rare and unique human being he was, so here, I will just try. The world has lost a leader, an intellectual monument, a teacher, a mentor, a gracious public servant, a loving family man, and most of all a man with a deep faith in God. His legacy will live on for all his warmth, kindness and embrace of mankind, an extraordinary human being. Pa was a man of humble beginnings, a human being who worked hard all his life to become a leader and sought to make lives better for all people. A courageous man, his intellect was rare and he was always eager to reach out to others. He taught us responsibility, independence integrity and tenacity, loyalty and humility. His charm was unmistakable and his bravery unmatched. He was in the words of Mahatma Gandhi the agent of change and decisive in his vision as he saw possibilities when others did not. Pa the teacher was widely respected among his colleagues, well respected and liked by his students and he had a deep interest in his students. Rather than posting limited office hours when he would see his students, he had an open-door policy. His advice was widely sought on both academic and personal matters and he nurtured his students into awareness. Pa was insightful, and his masterpiece poetic literature, he loved with his whole heart and he impacted the lives of many people. Throughout his life pa accomplished much in public service, a great public servant who served his country with honor and distinction, served and made the lebialem people proud. He was a true nationalist, a great citizen and a hardworking man and till the very end was serving his country. Thank you pa for wholeheartedly loving your family and loving people as a whole. Pa was a great family man and he also welcomed every stranger at his door and extended kindness and warmth to mankind. He comforted when others turned their backs and gave when no one would. His home was a revolving door with assorted friends living there or visiting. Most importantly he had a deep faith in God and as the world at large mourns this loss his faith will lead him to the embracing arms of the lord. In the end we have lost our hero, our champion and our inspiration. Pa’s legacy will live on in the many people he touched. We thank the Lord for his life and for the many values and lessons he taught us. Gone is a father loved by all he will sleep at peace his work is done. So with your love in our hearts and sadness in our eyes, ewooh Ndo nkong, we’ll say farewell pa and may you rest in peace. Amen. Pat Morfaw
